September Neighborhood Meeting Recap
Thanks to all who attended our September Neighborhood meeting. Here's a brief recap of the main agenda items:
We discussed the NRNA Officer and Board Nominations and Elections, which will occur at our October and November meetings respectively. All Officer positions (President, Vice President, Treasurer, and Secretary) are elected annually, and interested neighbors are encouraged to run! If you are interested in any role, please email us out and we can make time for you to introduce yourself at the October meeting.
We also received an update from the Rapid Ride Community Engagement Team on the new RapidRide I Line in Kent, Auburn, and Renton, which will replace the current Route 160. Their presentation can be viewed here, and the team also sent along these links from METRO MATTERS, which speak to the some of the questions asked during the Q&A portion of the meeting:
- June 30, 2025: King County and City of Seattle to increase Metro’s safety and security presence
- March 19, 2025: King County Metro supports regional approach to safety by Metro General Manager
- October 22, 2024: Proposed budget focuses on cleanliness, equity, reliability, safety and sustainability
- March 5, 2024: Metro improves safety with boosted security, presence
For our October meeting (Wednesday, 10/15), we will welcome back the Renton Police Department Communications & Community Engagement Team, who will review crime statistics for the North Renton area and discuss what everyone can do to contribute to the safety of our community.
