October Neighborhood Meeting Recap and Upcoming Events

Hi Neighbors!

Thanks to all who attended our October Neighborhood meeting. Below is a recap of the main agenda items; meeting minutes can also be found here.

NRNA Officer nominations occurred for the November elections: Jim Zimmerman, to continue in the role of Treasurer, and Meredith Farmer to continue in the role of President. The Vice President and Secretary positions remain open; please let us know if you are interested in joining our team - we would love to have you!

We celebrated some recent NRNA News and Events:

North Renton received the Neighborhood of the Year Award from the City of Renton Neighborhood Program! This is a great achievement and would not have been possible without YOUR support and engagement!

Live Candidate’s Forum recap - we are working on getting the recording up online for folks to view, and will send out a communication via email, on Facebook, and on our blog once this is done. Thank you to our Dom Williams and Diane Dobson - NRNA Social Committee Chair and Co-Chair - for organizing this event!

Thanks to volunteers for coming out to 9/20 #WorldCleanupDay litter pick up & 9/27 Traffic Circle Clean Up events!

Guest speakers were Sandra Havlik and Brooke Lamothe from the City of Renton Police Department Communications & Community Engagement Team. We learned about North Renton crime stats and prevention, including a robust Q&A session. Thank you Sandra and Brooke for coming out - we appreciate your time!

Upcoming NRNA Neighborhood Meetings - 3rd Wednesday monthly | 6:30 - 7:30 PM | Renton Sr Center

November Meeting (11/19) - Please bring pie or your favorite dessert to share! No speakers, NRNA officer elections.
December Meeting (12/17) - Please bring cookies or your favorite dessert to share! No speakers, social time with neighbors.
January Meeting (1/21) - City of Renton Transportation Department returning to discuss safety improvements made to Sartori since last visit, and other traffic topics. There will be time for Q&A.
